The Tarot Thread: Sagittarius Full Moon
MOON PEAKS: 31st May 2026, 09.45 (uk)
The tarot cards connected to this Sagittarius Full Moon are the Eight of Wands, and Eight of Swords.
A powerful pairing of expansion and limitation.
One card wants movement, whilst the other keeps us standing still.
The Eight of Wands is momentum. It is energy finally finding direction after a period of stagnation. It speaks of growth, acceleration and the feeling that something is beginning to gather speed. Opportunities appear. Insights arrive. Decisions that once felt impossible suddenly become obvious. There is movement in the air.
The Eight of Swords stands in direct contrast to this. Here we find ourselves trapped, but often by beliefs more than reality. Fear creates walls where there may be none. We convince ourselves we are powerless. We overthink. We hesitate. We wait for certainty before acting.
Yet the woman in the card is not truly imprisoned. The swords surround her, but they do not touch her. The blindfold can be removed if she shimmied herself up to a sword to set herself free. The path is still there.
This is where the Sagittarius Full Moon becomes so potent.
Sagittarius is the seeker, the explorer, the truth teller. It wants freedom above almost everything else. It wants to grow beyond limitations and discover what exists beyond the horizon. It cannot thrive in small spaces for long.
Under this Full Moon, we are being shown exactly where we have been confining ourselves.
Where have you accepted less than you truly desire?
Where have you convinced yourself that something is impossible?
Where have you allowed fear to become a reason not to move?
The Eight of Swords often appears when we have become disconnected from our own power. We focus so heavily on obstacles that we stop noticing possibilities. We become attached to the story of why we cannot rather than the vision of what might happen if we did.
The Eight of Wands arrives as a challenge to that narrative. It asks what would happen if you trusted yourself enough to act. Not next month, not when you feel ready, but NOW!
Because this card rarely waits for perfect timing. It speaks of movement creating clarity rather than clarity creating movement.
Many people spend years waiting to feel certain before they take a step forward. The Eight of Wands reminds us that certainty is often found through action itself. Momentum builds because we begin, not because we have all the answers.
This Full Moon may feel uncomfortable because it illuminates the gap between where you are and where your soul wants to be.
You may become acutely aware of the areas of your life where you have outgrown your current circumstances. You may realise that the cage door has been open for some time. You may see that what has been keeping you stuck is no longer external, but internal. That awareness is not here to shame you, it is here to liberate you.
The invitation of this lunation is to stop negotiating with the fears that keep you small.
Trust the vision calling you forward, and recognise that freedom is rarely found by waiting.
The Eight of Wands is already in motion, the question is whether you are willing to move with it.
Where are you needing to expand your sights with this Full Moon in Sagittarius?
