Taurus New Moon: What Are You Truly Cultivating?
PEAKS: 16th May 2026, 21.01 (uk)
This Taurus New Moon is where we seed what we want to grow over the next few months and beyond. A place to ground your intentions around your security, worth and abundance. Growth can be satisfying, but only if we are tending to seeds that truly nourish us. Taurus is ruled by Venus, and she will crinkle her nose and turn her head at anything you plant that doesn’t root in the soils of pleasure. So throw your should’s and must’s out the door, and claim what you deeply desire.
As with any New Moon, it is a time for clear intentions about what it is you’d like to cultivate in your life. Earth sign Taurus is all about the slow build, claiming what you want through dedicated action and devotion to your goal. We are not just wishing, we are to bring that wish into the physical reality through embodiment and consistency. This is a great New Moon for a ritual, something uses and activates your worldly senses - because Earth signs remind us that the great unknown is not separate from the world we live in. Touch, taste, smell, listen and see - create a ritual that utilises them all, and most importantly feels good. Build a doorway for the magick to enter.
We live in a world of urgency, we have access to seemingly everything at the touch of a button, on screens that we never seem to put down. This isn’t how the natural world, the one that Taurus bull roams, actually works. The earth moves through the four seasons of the year gradually - it’s not asking for next day delivery on the next cycle. What can we take from this?
Slow down!
Stop trying to jump ahead to the finish line and take a moment to enjoy the moment you are in. Yes, of course, we would all love to reach the top of the mountain we are attempting to climb, to reap the rewards waiting there - but the sights that surround you on the path up there offer beauty too, if only you eased your pace and gave yourself the chance to witness it. The end goal doesn't have to contain all the goodies, the whole process can hold value and pleasure - it just requires a reframe.
What you plant now can have long term rewards, as long as you are willing to be a doting gardener to the cause. ‘Yes’, you say. Great! Hold that strong and true in your heart, because on the same day, we have Mars conjunct Chiron in Aries. Chiron means old wounds surfacing, Mars agitates trigger points and the Aries of it all brings extra fire and reactivity to the mix.
Let’s look back to the last New Moon we had in Aries for a moment, this lunation encouraged us act from alignment, not fear. The same applies here, any fears that rise up are highlighting the areas where it still has control of the reins. Fear so easily rules the spaces and places we feel vulnerable, and this is where the work is required - this is where you need to build trust. And if you feel angry.. let it out, move it through your body, scream it into a pillow, give it a doorway to exit. Discomfort is always a guide, it is down to you to ask it why it’s made an appearance.
We also have Algol in the mix, and I can’t lie and say I know much about this fixed star. So here we are, learning something new together. The energetics it brings is that of transformation, but through the shadows. That’s fear on fear - confront it to evolve.
Organise, ritualise and open yourself up to receive. Plant your seeds with intention. Focus on building something strong, stable, and long lasting, something that hits your pleasure centres and increases your worth (both inward and outward).
Invest your time wisely, as your energy is not finite. Align yourself with goals, projects and ideas that refuel you organically as you work to climb the mountain. If something is out of alignment with your soul’s truth, the biggest indicator will be in how it zaps your life force. And without that energy coaxing you forward, you’re far more likely to burn out long before you reach the top. And perhaps you do make it, only to realise the view is disappointing because you were never truly honest with yourself to begin with.
The house in your chart ruled by Taurus will give you a greater insight into the themes that are more likely to be present for you around this lunation. Also have a look at where your Venus sits to see how it connects.
