The Seven of Pentacles & The Taurus New Moon
MOON PEAKS: 16th May 2026, 21.01 (uk)
The tarot card connected to this Taurus New Moon is the Seven of Pentacles.
A card of intentional cultivation, long term investment and sustainable growth. It asks us to pause and reflect on where we are placing our energy, and whether what we are building is truly capable of nourishing us in return.
It is a card that focuses on our long term vision of what we want to grow, and the investment of our energy to ensure it succeeds. Perfectly fitting for this lunation that is centred around what we are cultivating. We are being called to plant our seeds with intention, not just the intention of what we’d like to grow, but with the intention of applying consistent effort to ensure it blooms.
Pentacles do not grow overnight, this is earth element, so it’s a slow build - to ensure stability and sustainability.
Ask yourself, what are you investing yourself into? Across the board, look at your whole life - financial, physical, emotional, spiritual. Where are you giving your energy, and more importantly, is it truly aligned with your desires?
The Seven of Pentacles has us invested in the present and the future all at once, and the thread between the two is patience and hard work. Pause, take a moment, and bring your focus to the future. Follow the thread from now to then, visualising what the end goal is - your dream of dreams, the deepest of desires. You have a mountain to climb, but what does the view look like when you reach the top? Bring in all your senses, how does it feel? What can you smell and taste? Are you enveloped in sound or silence? Be with the dream, align with your soul’s truth. If it is not a full body yes, then it’s a no. This moon is not about settling.
But it is about effort. Follow that thread back to the now, this is where you are planting seeds under the New Moon for that future. Ones that come with conditions: a promise to nurture, tend to and do the hard graft required.
See the man’s face in the card, weary and disheartened as he looks down upon his harvest. This is the exact reason we want our seeds to be planted in utmost truth to our desires, because if we do so, when the going gets tough, our willingness to persevere will be strong. It will fuel us forwards, as we’ll know that that the fruits of our labour will be glorious. If we are pouring effort into something that we only have half a heart for, then our energy reserves will be drained - risking burnout or disappoint at the finish line.
What we nourish, we want to nourish us in return.
Instant gratification out the door, we are not rushing or forcing our dream into reality. Things take time to root, time to establish themselves, time to grow. We will reap what we sow, so where you place your energy is important. Devote yourself fully to what it is you want to be, to become, to build.
Where you place your attention matters. Do not abandon yourself because of fear, urgency or the feeling of “I should”. Recognise the long term value this vision, and the slow build required to bring it into reality. How strong and sturdy it will be because you didn’t rush the process of becoming. Meaningful and abundant harvests don’t appear overnight. Trust the process, start your journey to the mountain top, take in the path and the beauty it offers as you make your way to the top. The end is the goal, but the journey, however slow, is what living is really about.
